Totnes Hospital has received a special bed to help dementia patients sleep easy at night.

The £3,000 adjustable hi-low bed was donated by the Friends of Totnes Hospital and has been installed in the hospital’s Dart Ward.

Deputy matron Allie Taylor thanked the friends group for the “fantastic gift” adding: “The bed will be used for patients who suffer from dementia as it can be lowered to the floor at night to reduce patient falls.”

Friends chairwoman Allison Davey, thanked supporters for their kind donations, adding: “Every penny directly supports patient care.”
